ANURAGA KARIKKIN VELLAM IS ALL ABOUT FAMILY!
Rahman Khalid, the brother of popular cinematographer/director Shyju Khalid is all set to make his debut as director with the upcoming film Anuraga Karikkin Vellam, the shooting of which auspiciously kicked off a few days ago. The film features Asif Ali, Biju Menon and Sreenath Bhasi in the leads roles. Biju Menon reportedly plays Asif’s father in this film, which brings the two actors together on screen after Pakida. Drishyam actress Asha Sharath is also said to be playing an interesting character in the film. 
 
Asif Ali posted a quirky selfie with his co-star Sreenath Bhasi on his social media page, announcing the commencement of the shoot of the film. Anuraga Karikkin Vellam is being produced by August Cinema, the joint banner by Prithviraj, Santosh Sivan, Shaji Nadesan and Arya. Their last production was Double Barrel. Jimshi Khalid, the other brother of the director will be wielding the camera for the project while it has been written by Naveen Bhaskar, the scribe of the hit film ABCD. Prashant Pillai is scoring the music for the film.

Saiju to play dad to Kunchacko and Asif Ali

Saiju Govinda Kurup, who has been proving his calibre in South Indian movies with a variety of roles, will be seen as Kunchacko Boban and Asif Ali’s father in debutant director Raghuram Varma’s Rajamma@Yahoo. 


Sharing the excitement, Saiju says, “It was really fascinating to play dad to two young superstars of Mollywood. I am happy and excited. My character’s name is Yohannan.” 


While it is an unusual role for him in Rajamma @Yahoo, he will play the role of a cop again in his two upcoming films, Malgudi Days and Action Hero Biju. In the latter he will be seen as Nivin Pauly’s superior officer. 
“It’s quite interesting that people notice us more when we do roles of a thief or a police than any other. I guess the visibility is more for these as viewers will ask why I have been repeatedly taking up cop roles?” quips Saiju who had also donned the police uniform for Kohinoor this year. Saiju also has two more projects in his kitty- Biju Menon’s Salt Mango Tree and Kunchacko Boban’sValleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti.
